The Eleanor Crook Foundation was co-founded in 1997 by Eleanor Crook and her late husband, Ambassador William H. Crook.

From the beginning, the foundation’s mission has been to end hunger. For decades, Eleanor has been a pioneer in advocacy for global nutrition. In addition, her family’s leadership through their grocery company, H.E.B, helped spearhead the national food banking movement.

The Crook Family remains an active leader in the global fight to end malnutrition and hunger. The Eleanor Crook Foundation board now comprises three generations of Crook family members, all of whom share Eleanor’s intense resolve that every human being has the right to a life without hunger.
